Guidelines for Worship Leaders
GUIDELINES FOR YOUTH GREETERS OVERVIEW
Greeters are an extremely important role in the life of our church. Often the greeter is the first official representative of our church and Jesus Christ that guests (and members) will have contact with as they walk into the church on Sunday morning. Your attitude and words of welcome set the tone for everything else that happens during the worship service. Greeters are the forerunners for all the other ministries that occur on Sunday morning.
GUIDELINES FOR USHERS OVERVIEW
Ushers play a critical role before, during and after the worship service. Your job is to welcome worshippers to the service, make sure they are comfortably seated, and ensure that worship occurs in an orderly manner.

GUIDELINES FOR SERVING COMMUNION
Serving Holy Communion is an honor and a privilege. Communion is one of two sacraments practiced by United Methodists, along with baptism. Both sacraments were commanded by Jesus himself. Both relate directly to Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. Both impart God’s grace (God’s love, acceptance and strength) to those who receive the sacraments. Communion is like a meal—a sacred meal that nourishes and strengthens us. And, it is repeatable throughout one’s lifetime. (Baptism, on the other hand, occurs only once.)
